Get More Internet and IRL Sales for Your Business

Your business likely thrives on a combination of customers. Your real-life customers are just as important as those who order form your virtual shop. So how can you get more of both types of customers? Just like feather flags snag new customers in front of your store, you can use and leverage social media to improve your sales.

Get Social

Your social media accounts are the best way to get people who love your items to love your company. The first thing you need to do is to choose which social media outlets are right for your business. If you are great at doing one or two social media, that's all you need. You don't have to do all of them. You can build your following by posting engaging information and questions. You can post about the business and the sales, but don't make these the primary focus of your social media account. Instead, choose on-brand messages that show others who you are and what you stand for. For some, that'll be comedy, for others it will be inspiration, and some will focus on beauty or something else related to their business image.

Reward Loyalty

It's easier to keep a customer than it is to get a new customer. The statistics on the comparative costs are pretty eye-opening. When you reward loyalty, you use the interactions you have already made to improve your sales. The person who is rewarded gets to feel even better about your business, and when done correctly, you have a customer for life. You don't have to just reward in-store customers; you can leverage your social media audience and reward those who are members of your particular social network. By offering an in-store only discount, you can get more of your virtual customers into your real-life location.

Make It Look Good

Keep the outside of your shop in good repair. Paint the doors and windows, clean the windows, and make sure no trash has blown into your property's area. The outside of your shop should not only look good but should also make clear what's inside and whether or not you're open. Some small shops keep erratic hours and look closed from the outside, even when the lights are on inside. Potential customers that think the shop is closed, won't bother getting out of the car. Feather flags, sandwich boards, and neon signs are good ways to let people know that you're open and what kind of business you do.
